Shops

There are only three places in Liberty City where you can buy things: Ammu-Nation, Pay and Spray, and 8-Ball's shop.

Ammu-Nation

After Pay and Spray, this is probably the place you will visit most often. You can buy weapons here: at the start of the game only a fraction of the weapons is available, but as the number of completed missions grows, more and more of them go on sale. Luckily you don't have to go far to shop, because there is a store in every part of the city, each with a different range.

Pay and Spray

If the vehicle you are driving doesn't belong to the city (ambulances, police and FBI vehicles), you can have it resprayed for $1000. This is mostly needed when your wanted level is so high that there would be no other way to get rid of it. If the car isn't damaged, the respray is free.

8-Ball's shop

If you need something with a big bang, this is where you get it. For only $1000 you get a huge firework fitted in your car. Every part of the city sells a different type of bomb, so you won't get bored.

• Portland: an ignition bomb. The bomb goes off when the vehicle's engine is started.
• Staunton Island: a timed bomb. Once armed, it explodes after a few seconds, so running seems like a pretty good idea.
• Shoreside Vale: a remote-controlled bomb. You set it off with the detonator you get with it. Get to a safe distance before you blow it up.
