Rampages
A little intro first. The game handles rampages (in a pretty complicated way) so that every mission shows up in two places. At the "first spot" first, but if you fail the first mission, then you have to look for the skull icon at the second spot (and if you fail that too, go back to the first one). So if I recommend that you take the second mission (this is subjective, but my tips, or what I read alongside them, worked out), then pick up the one at the first spot, wait until the time runs out (that's 2 minutes), and then you can head to the second spot.
Portland Rampage
1. Shoot 30 Diablo members with the M-16
- Red Light District, in the passage behind the building across from Luigi's bar
- Chinatown, behind the old school, at the foot of the Callahan Bridge, in the middle of the basketball court
At the first spot there are lots of Diablos with pistols, but very little "raw material", so I don't recommend it. The second spot is the sure thing. A basketball court, which is an open area, lots of baseball bat raw material. There are two fenced-off parts, and between the two a small hill with trees. Park a car here, go up on the hilltop, and shoot the enemy. When the supply runs out, head towards Chinatown, and if they run after you, feel free to use the car as cover.
2. Blow up 10 vehicles with grenades
- Saint Marks, on the elevated railway track, close to the hospital and the police station
- Trenton, elevated railway, towards the harbour
I'd say pick the first spot, it's a bit busier. Hijack a big truck (or even better, bring a bus from the harbour), and park it at one of the intersections. This catches about 5-6 cars, plus the truck, the bus, that's already 7 to begin with, right. Then run to Portland View, there are police cars, ambulances, Perennials... so you can easily get to ten.
3. Blow up 13 vehicles with the rocket launcher
- Trenton, across from the old school, behind the Bank of Liberty you'll find an entrance, the icon is on the right
- Callahan Point, at the big building behind Greasy Joe's restaurant, close to the fence
It doesn't matter which one you pick, the requirements can be done. I picked the first one (because I didn't feel like waiting for the second). General tips: if you park a few cars in the yard (e.g. the one you came with, when you arrive), you can blow that up right away. Then you walk up the ramp, and you can blast away undisturbed. As a bonus, there's even a police star nearby.
4. Kill 25 Triad members with the Uzi
- Chinatown, go left from your hideout, turn at the corner where the building with the Rockstar logo is, you have to go into an alley. The alley is marked by a parked Pony.
- Portland View, at the wall of the Supa Save, across from the stairs leading there
It doesn't matter here either which one you do, I did the mission at the second spot, but the first is fine too. Block the top of the stairs with a big vehicle (e.g. a bus), and your back is covered. If things get really hot, and there's too little raw material, jump out to the street, you'll find some there (or turn around, usually the game drops a whole pallet of enemies then).
5. Kill 20 mafiosi with the AK47
- Saint Marks, go to Mama Cipriani's restaurant. Behind a brown house there is a passage, a Mafia gang car is parked there. The icon is across from the car, between the two pink garages.
- Saint Marks, next to "1 Hour Photo" turn into the alley, there's a row of fences here, the icon will be at the middle entrance.
It doesn't matter which one you take, this is a very dangerous mission at both spots. Be well equipped to begin with, ideally with 125 health and 100 armor. Now, after you've picked up the mission, be very careful, because the Mafia is very well armed. There's a trick that works really well. Go to the first spot with some big vehicle (bus is the favorite), and make a barricade (park the bus facing the Sentinel). Look out at the street next to you, if everything's right, there's a health icon. Start hunting the folks! If all goes well, you get a star, and the cop comes after you. Now go for the icon, pick it up, then step back, if everything's right, the cop can't catch you. And now comes the trick! The Mafia guys don't shoot if they see a cop! The game becomes ridiculous, quickly collect the 20 victims (if you want to get clean, the paint shop isn't far). You can solve things without this too, it's just significantly harder that way...
6. Hunt down 20 Triad members with the shotgun
- Trenton, in the passage behind Mean Street Taxi
- Portland View, from the hill next to the police station head towards the hospital, up onto the concrete ledge, and the icon will be there.
It doesn't matter which one you pick, it's a very easy mission. The first spot may be more attractive in that the police station is far from there, so the situation isn't so hot. If you jump up on a car, you can score an easy victory over the Chinese.
Staunton Island Rampage
7. Blow up 20 Yardie members with the rocket launcher
- Bedford Point, from your hideout go right, go to the four-lane road, and go to the church. There's a passage that leads to the cemetery garden. The icon will be behind the building.
- You have to get to the black, dome-like building, but from the parking lot that appeared in King Courtney's last mission. Coming out of the yard, to the left, next to the stairs, the icon hides among the bushes.
A tough nut. Let it be the first spot. If the Yardies attack you, you can't even defend yourself, since the rocket launcher isn't exactly good for close range. So here's what I say: there's the AM Co. headquarters, and next to it you'll find a glass-walled building. Blow out the glass, and the fun can begin, send lots of rockets into the street. If it doesn't work out, don't give up, it really is a tough nut.
8. Shoot 17 Yardies in the head with the sniper rifle
- Torrington, on top of the AM Co. headquarters, first level (the ramp up is at the parking lot entrance)
- Torrington, at Kenji's casino, at one of the passages
Both spots are good. All I can say is that decapitation counts. So if something is covering the dude, or you simply missed, don't stress, never mind, the next batch of material is coming. You can quickly collect those 17 heads.
9. Blow up 25 Yardie members with grenades
- Belleville Park, in the alley behind the fire station
- Liberty Campus, from your hideout go left, left down again, then straight into the building's yard
Let it be the first spot. As I read through the tips and mix them together with what I experienced, what we get is: get a fast car, then head to the stadium, up the stairs, and then happily toss the berries, there will be plenty of material.
10. Murder 25 Yakuza with the flamethrower
- Bedford Point, the parking lot described at the 7th rampage, in the part closer to Donald's headquarters
- Bedford Point, between the church and the big white building
The Japanese won't hurt you, so it doesn't matter which one you do. Since you're buddies, just get out the flamethrower. Make sure a fire truck doesn't run you over (and that you don't set a burning Yakuza on fire...).
11. Destroy 8 vehicles with the shotgun
- Belleville Park, northeast corner
- Belleville Park, southwest corner
It doesn't matter which one you pick. The point is to take up most of the busy stretch of road with a really big vehicle (e.g. in the previous job you may have run into quite a lot of fire trucks...). Wait a little, and soon lots of vehicles are parked behind you. Because of the shotgun's spread you have to get close to the cars, but the chain reaction can be rewarding.
12. Set 16 Yakuza on fire with Molotov cocktails
- Newport, go to the four-lane road, on the street of the gun shop, head south. At the end of the slope turn left, back onto the other two lanes, the icon will be in front of the last building at the incline.
- Newport, next to the parking garage, in front of 8-Ball's workshop
Again it doesn't matter which one you do, maybe the first suits you better. There are tons of Japs around Asuka. Just toss the cocktails away. Be careful not to drop the pack right in front of your own eyes, because that can be embarrassing...
13. Destroy 15 vehicles with the M16
- Liberty Campus, go next to the university, right across from the Yardie headquarters
- Fort Staunton, in the construction site area, northeast corner
Pick the first one, as soon as you've picked up the mission, head to the parking lot behind the stadium. Lots of cars are parked here, plus yours, so you've got a significant part of the required number. After that just walk out to a busy stretch of road, and blast away.
Shoreside Vale Rampage
14. Hunt down 20 Cartel members with the sniper rifle
- Pike Creek, in front of a unique stunt jump, behind the crate
- Pike Creek, on top of the right-hand row of garages behind the police station
It'll be hard, since the Cartel is equipped with nice AK47s. Pick the second spot: go to the edge of the garage, jump down next to the ramp, stand against the wall, so at least your back is covered. Wherever the ramp points, you can hunt that way, if the material runs out, step out, shoot a few, then quickly back into cover.
15. Roast 20 Cartel members with the flamethrower
- Cedar Grove, from the serpentine road go right, the icon is behind a garage, a Landstalker is parked here too
- Cochrane Dam, in the yard of the import/export house
I'll be honest, I suffered a lot with it. I read up afterwards, and a trick caught my eye, and by trying it I got through the job without a scratch. So: let it be the first spot. As soon as you've picked it up, go up the hill, to the end. You're standing behind a hedge, the street in front of you, full of victims. Here switch to the top-down view (C). This way you see the field, yourself, and the Cartel guys. From here the task is dead simple: roast the cheeky Colombians, but don't be afraid, they can't see you, and they can't shoot at you either. This already counts as cheating...
16. Shoot 20 Southside with the shotgun
- Wichita Gardens, to the left of your hideout, on the left side of the bridge, then jump up onto the railing, and on top of one of the garages you can already see the icon
- Airport, behind the big blue SUMO sign across from the airport exit ramp.
Pick the first spot. Somewhere at the corner of an apartment building there's a health icon, but it can be done without it too, since if you fall off the garage, go east towards the brick fence, and you'll be covered pretty well. If the material runs out, walk around, that way you can help it spawn.
17. Behead 20 Southside Hoods with the M16
- Wichita Gardens, behind the SQUID sign
- Cedar Grove, serpentine road, behind the GASOLINE sign
Pick the first one, on the second one the Cartel shows up too. There aren't many tricks: concentrate on the heads, it's no problem if a leg or two slips in. One more thing: somewhere around the garage mentioned before there's an adrenaline icon, with that you can get significantly ahead. If the material runs out, run around too.
18. Blow up 15 vehicles with the rocket launcher
- Pike Creek, in the yard of Turtle Head Fishing Co. go up the iron stairs, the icon is up there on the roof
- Next to the airport, behind a big BADFELLAS sign
Let it be the first spot. General tips for blowing things up: block the road with some big bus, or fire truck, and if you're lucky, 5-6 cars are already honking behind your vehicle. Blow those up, then slowly the other unsuspecting four-wheelers passing by.
19. Kill 20 Cartel members with a vehicle
- Airport, behind the FatBurgerKid sign
- Pike Creek, go up, left at the intersection. The icon will be inside the thicket.
Only take this on if you have some nice bulletproof vehicle (you can get a few in the game, but the most obvious is the Patriot you got from Ray). You see quite a lot of members, flatten them with it, but be careful, avoid collisions, because it's bulletproof, but not damageproof.
20. Destroy 7 vehicles shooting from a car
- Pike Creek, behind the entrance guard booth of Punk Noodles
- Cochrane Dam, at the bottom of the dam, behind one of the rocks
Pick up the first one, then head to the airport's closed parking lot. You can get all 7 victims right there...
