Sony reveals Black and White GTA VI DualSense controllers
Sony showed two limited edition GTA VI DualSense controllers at today's State of Play. Both launch November 19 alongside the game at $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99, with pre-orders opening September 10.

Sony has revealed two limited edition DualSense controllers themed around Grand Theft Auto VI. The Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and White Limited Edition were shown at today's State of Play and go on sale starting November 19, the same day as the game, at a recommended price of $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99. Pre-orders open on September 10.

The design
According to the PlayStation Blog, both controllers have a shimmering, color-shifting finish that is supposed to suggest a Vice City sunset and neon lights. They also have palm tree details molded into the shell and official Grand Theft Auto VI branding.
PlayStation describes the two as different times of day. The White edition is Vice City at daybreak, with white sands and pastel skies, and the Black edition represents the city's nightlife.

IGN describes the hardware in more detail: a VI logo engraved on the touchpad, palm tree etchings around the grips, a Grand Theft Auto logo etched on the back and neon purple trim around the bottom half.

Where to buy and when
The two editions are not distributed the same way. The White edition will be sold in limited quantities worldwide through direct.playstation.com and participating retailers. The Black edition will also be limited, but sold only through direct.playstation.com where the store operates, and through select retailers in other regions.
On direct.playstation.com, pre-orders open on September 10 at 7:00am PT / 10:00am ET in the U.S., and at 10:00am local time in the U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. In Portugal, pre-orders go through playstation.com/store/hardware. Eligible direct pre-orders come with free launch day delivery.
In Japan, the price is ¥12,480 including tax. In Southeast Asia, both controllers will be sold in limited quantities through participating retailers at SGD 115 / MYR 419 / IDR 1,549,000 / THB 2,890 / PHP 5,411 / VND 2,399,000, with pre-orders also starting September 10 at 10:00am local time. PlayStation notes that the exact launch date and availability may vary by country or region.

The PS5 angle
PlayStation says GTA VI uses the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to give dynamic resistance during play. IGN also reports that PlayStation claims the game will "play best" on PS5, using the controller's speaker, haptics and adaptive triggers along with Tempest 3D AudioTech. The reveal follows last week's debut of the first GTA VI gameplay and the media previews that came with it, IGN notes.
One thing Sony did not show is a console. IGN points out that neither Sony nor Rockstar confirmed a GTA VI PS5 bundle alongside the controllers, and the outlet now considers one slightly unlikely. That is IGN's reading, not an announcement either way.

Pre-orders open on September 10. The controllers and Grand Theft Auto VI both arrive on November 19, 77 days from today.
