GTA VI DualSense controllers: white model sells out fast as pre-orders strain PlayStation Direct
Sony's two limited-edition Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense controllers went up for pre-order on September 10. The white model sold out at several retailers within hours, and resale listings were already on eBay.

Sony and Rockstar Games opened pre-orders for two limited-edition Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense controllers on September 10, and the white version sold out at several major retailers within hours. IGN and GamesRadar+ both reported long queues, site errors and early sellouts, and resellers were asking close to twice the retail price on eBay.

Each controller costs $84.99 in the US, and GamesRadar+ lists the UK price at £74.99. Both release on November 19, 2026, the same day as the game. The black model is sold only through PlayStation Direct, while the white one is available from other retailers too. Sony says the black version "captures the energy of Vice City's iconic nightlife."

The changes are cosmetic. According to IGN, both controllers have a shimmering, color-shifting finish on the inside of the grips, a large but subtle "VI" on the touchpad and textured palm tree etchings set into the grips. GamesRadar+ adds that the GTA logo is embossed on the back. Apart from that, these are standard DualSense controllers.

The retail box carries a purple and orange sunset design with the VI icon and palm fronds.

How pre-orders went
Pre-orders were set for 10am ET / 7am PT in the US and 10am local time in the UK and Europe. Some UK retailers, including Argos and Smyths Toys, listed the white model about two hours early. In the Netherlands, Media Markt had it listed at €89.99 before the official launch.
IGN's reporter spent more than an hour in the PlayStation Direct queue and ran into sign-in errors on PlayStation's website. PlayStation limited purchases to one controller per account.
In the UK, GamesRadar+ saw the white model sell out at Currys and Very after a few hours, after which EE listed stock. PS Direct ran out of the white version while the black exclusive was still available. In the US, IGN found GameStop and Best Buy sold out of the white controller, while Target and Amazon appeared to still have stock, as did PS Direct with the black one. Availability changed throughout the day, so these reports only hold for the moment they were written.

IGN found the controllers on eBay for nearly double the price. GamesRadar+ notes that listings appeared before pre-orders had even opened.
Whether more stock is coming is unclear, IGN says. GamesRadar+ points out that this is a "limited" rather than a "special" edition, which makes a restock less likely, although earlier limited DualSense models, the Astro Bot and 30th Anniversary editions, had more than one stock run.
Separately, pre-orders for the game itself can be preloaded a week before launch, and physical copies of GTA VI, which contain a download code instead of a disc, ship on November 12.
