San Andreas news

GTA: New York
This morning we had news of a Hungarian GTA game, and now we're setting sail for foreign waters. An international team of modders has decided to build an in-game version of New York, using the San Andreas engine.
GTA: Staunton Island Winter 2
We got word not long ago that *Blacky* has finished GTA: Staunton Island Winter 2. This isn't a mod, but a complete game. I haven't tried it myself yet, but as far as I know it was built on the Vice City engine, just like the first part (we never had the pleasure of playing that one, I'm sure it was good too).
First San Andreas Patch
Rockstar has stirred the game's first v1.01 patch into their home-brewed iced coffee. It weighs in at 11 megs and fixes quite a few problems in the game, on top of any "steamy" assassination attempts. Here is the translated list of the important fixes:
San Andreas Intro Video
Today we'd like to serve up a new San Andreas intro, made by Pedge Jameson and the smooth-talking Young Maylay. The usual beat in the intro has been spiced up with a bit of rapping, so it's bound to be good.. that much is for sure.. :p
Liberty City to Vice City to San Andreas
The LVS Team already had a go at combining GTA III and Vice City once, but they decided to wait for San Andreas instead and link the three cities together in that.
King of the Ghetto
In the rap video King of the Getto, made by Sequential Pictures, SneakyD "sings" about the game itself to the music of San Andreas. His page has the video in .mpg and .mov formats, the music alone as an .mp3, the lyrics, and a few pictures from the video.
Map Viewer
The latest version of the Map Viewer is out from Steve M.'s kitchen. As he put it, it's still a non-user-friendly alpha version, so not everyone may get it running on the first try.
Mod Manager
Delfi and quite a few other developers from [GTAGarage](https://www.gtagarage.com/mods/index.php) and [GTATools](https://gtatools.com/) have put together the first modification installer. It's still an early version, but it's compatible with both GTA III and Vice City.
Contest
After long negotiations and talks, we have reached an agreement with the heads of Game X Kft., and they are providing us with an original PC version of GTA: San Andreas, which we are of course putting up as a prize! So we are launching our first contest, where one lucky winner gets the original game for PC.
Granny doesn't like hot coffee
A grandmother from New York has sued the makers of a game (GTA: San Andreas) she bought for her underage grandson in October 2004, after finding out that it contains pornographic scenes.
San Andreas Banned in Australia
The Office of Film and Literature Classification, the body responsible for age ratings of games, has revoked the game's current classification thanks to the Hot Coffee mod. The game was originally rated MA15+, so only players aged 15 and over could get hold of it.
Banner Contest
We haven't held a contest on the site in ages (actually, never :o), and since we're short on banners, it's about time we made something. Anyone who feels a little creative can enter.
