First San Andreas Patch
Rockstar has stirred the game's first v1.01 patch into their home-brewed iced coffee. It weighs in at 11 megs and fixes quite a few problems in the game, on top of any "steamy" assassination attempts. Here is the translated list of the important fixes:
BUGS FIXED
-The problem on machines with a double-installed or upgraded OS.
-If you start the game with special settings and 32 megs of video memory, you can only play with 640\*480\*16 or 640\*480\*32 settings.
-Exploded cars keep their colour.
-Dirty cars can be "washed off".
-You can now assign an action to Numpad 5.
-In certain situations the audio system died (only the radio could be heard).
-DVD streaming improved.
-Sound problems when entering/leaving interiors and when getting in and out of vehicles.
-Dancing improved.
-Freeze when listening to your own music with the Frame Limiter turned off.
Installing the patch won't wipe your existing saves, so everyone can safely install it by following the instructions. After the install, a v1.01 label appears in the main menu, so you can be sure the installation was successful.
