GTA VI launch day is already showing up in time-off requests
BambooHR data suggests time-off requests for November 19 are 9 to 17% above normal. Nobody can prove it is all about Grand Theft Auto VI, but it is not hard to guess.

Grand Theft Auto VI is still three weeks away, and HR software is already feeling it. BambooHR data, reported by Money.com, shows time-off requests for November 19 running 9% to 17% higher than normal for the third Thursday in November.
IGN notes it is unclear whether every one of those requests is about playing Grand Theft Auto VI, though it stands to reason that most are. (A sudden urge to visit the dentist on exactly that day seems unlikely.)
Economists have even put a number on it, estimating a $1 billion productivity loss in the US due to the release. Bosses, you have been warned.
A PC port is rumored for early 2027, so PC players will be answering emails like everyone else for a while.
Rockstar isn't keeping quiet in Miami either: on November 18, the day before launch, the Heat play the Milwaukee Bucks as the Vice City Heat.
So, who has already booked the day off?
