Swimming
In San Andreas we can swim with our main character too. In the previous GTA games, if we fell into the water with a vehicle (except boats, of course) or without one, we died right away. In San Andreas, on the other hand, we can get out of our vehicle in the middle of the water and start swimming toward the shore.
We can do more than just swim in the water: we can even dive under the surface to hide from the cops and gang members, and there is even a mission where we have to use this ability. As soon as we dive under, a little lung capacity meter shows up. This meter shows how long we can stay down under the water. This skill of ours - just like the others - will improve over time, so we will be able to stay underwater longer.
There are two things you can do to make your lung capacity grow. The first is to simply swim around underwater, so after a minute or two the level starts to increase, while the other is to collect the hidden oysters found in the water. If you manage to collect all of them, then not only will your lungs be able to hold the maximum amount of air, but your sex appeal will even go up too!
