Take-Two narrows GTA VI release to fall 2025
On its Q4 earnings call on May 16, Take-Two changed its forecasts to reflect a fall 2025 launch window for Grand Theft Auto VI. Earlier guidance said only calendar 2025.

Take-Two Interactive adjusted its forecasts on its Q4 earnings call on May 16 to reflect a fall 2025 launch window for Grand Theft Auto VI. The publisher had previously listed a calendar 2025 release, so the new wording narrows the window. We only have Tom's Guide's summary of the call.
The financial guidance changed as well. Take-Two now expects fiscal year 2025 bookings of between $5.55 billion and $5.65 billion, down from earlier forecasts of around $8 billion. Take-Two shares fell in after-hours trading following the earnings report.
Context
Tom's Guide notes that Grand Theft Auto V has now sold more than 200 million copies. It also says the first GTA VI trailer, released five months earlier, has more than 190 million YouTube views. Those are the outlet's figures, not part of Take-Two's announcement.
The outlet also recalls a Kotaku report claiming that production was stalling, and points out that Red Dead Redemption 2 moved from autumn 2017 to spring 2018. From this, Tom's Guide suggests a delay may still be possible. That is the outlet's speculation, and Take-Two has not said anything of the kind.
No exact release date has been given in the material we have. For now, fall 2025 is the window to go by.
