Rockstar sends GTA VI merch boxes to creators, TmarTn shows the first one

Rockstar Games has started sending GTA VI merchandise packages to content creators. YouTuber TmarTn appears to be the first to show one publicly. In his unboxing video he says the box arrived without any warning from Rockstar, shortly after the recent Game Informer drop, so it was sent out very recently.

The package is a black box with the Rockstar Games logo on it. According to GTAVice.net's rundown of the video, it contains:
- a blue cap with the pink Rockstar Games logo
- a blue Goodtime State shirt reading "Greetings from Vice City"
- GTA VI stickers
- a GTA VI Zippo lighter, with the VI logo on the front and "Vice City" on the back
- a blue Grand Theft Auto tote bag, with the pink Grand Theft Auto logo on one side and a pink VI logo on the other

GamesRadar+ describes the Zippo a little differently, as engraved with both the Rockstar and Vice City logos. It also notes that the shirt uses the same design Rockstar showed on the inside of the Goodtime State Collector's Box, which it had presented earlier.

That comparison is where many fans went next. On Twitter, several said they would rather have this package than the $400 (€400) Collector's Box. "Better than the good times collection box they're selling us for €400," one wrote. GamesRadar+ adds that some fans are 3D printing their own version of the box's pink alligator statue instead of paying Rockstar's price. The creator package, for the record, came without an alligator.
Whether ordinary buyers will be able to get any of this is still open. Earlier this month GTAVice.net found around 55 GTA VI-related items in Rockstar's store catalogue, among them the Zippo, tote bags, sticker packs, caps and several pieces of clothing. Rockstar has not said when they go on sale, and it has made no statement about the creator packages either.
GTAVice.net points to tomorrow, Thursday, October 1, as a date to watch for the Rockstar Store, but that is the site's own speculation. GamesRadar+ separately suggests the creator merch itself could be sold at some point. Rockstar has confirmed neither.
