Rockstar reportedly reminds GTA VI voice cast of their NDA after Stephen Root talks
A fan podcast claims Rockstar emailed the GTA VI voice actors: keep quiet until November 19. It reportedly came right after Stephen Root confirmed he plays Brian Heder. Unconfirmed, but the source has a decent track record.

Stephen Root talked, and now everybody else reportedly got the memo. According to episode 141 of the fan podcast GTAVIoclock, Rockstar contacted the people who did voice work on GTA VI to remind them they're still under NDA.
The message, as the podcast tells it: "We would like to remind everyone to please remember your NDA. The date you may announce your involvement is still November 19th." That's launch day, by the way. So until November 19, nobody in that booth says a word.
Why now? Insider Gaming, which reported the claim first, says the reminder followed Root making his role public. Root told the Associated Press, as reported by GTABase, that he voices and plays Brian Heder, a veteran drug runner who is Jason Duval's mentor and landlord. Fans had already clocked his voice in one of the first trailers anyway. Root's own take: with that much promo material out there, keeping it secret was almost impossible. Honestly? Fair.

Brian owns Brian's Boat Works & Marina and lets Jason live rent-free in one of his apartments. In the extended look Netflix showed, he tells Jason a story about a carousel that ends with "You gotta know when to get off." Good advice. Root clearly didn't take it on the NDA front.

Root is a Sarasota, Florida native, so he's practically playing a neighbor. He recently won an Emmy for Wyck Crawford in Widow's Bay, and his first came in 2019 for Monroe Fuches in Barry.

Now the salt. This whole email story rests on one podcast. Insider Gaming itself says take it with a pinch of salt, while pointing to comments on X that GTAVIoclock has had contacts at Rockstar North since before GTA V came out. GamesRadar+ calls the show "normally reliable". Rockstar hasn't said a thing publicly. Would I bet on it? Yeah, a decent chunk. A studio sending a boring "remember your NDA" email after an actor spills is about the least wild rumor I've heard all year.

Meanwhile Rockstar is happy to talk when it sells something: the soundtrack with 34 original songs, and a $400 Collector's Edition that doesn't even include the game. Four hundred bucks, no game. Hell of a carousel.
The rest of the cast? Lips sealed till November. Unless one of them wants to be the next guy getting an email.
