Report: GTA VI is coming to PC in Q1 2027
GamesBeat says four anonymous industry sources put GTA VI on PC in the first quarter of 2027, a few months after the console launch. Rockstar and Take-Two haven't said a word.

PC crew, pull up a chair. According to GamesBeat, Rockstar plans to release Grand Theft Auto VI on PC in the first quarter of 2027. The report rests on four industry sources who know the studio's plans. All four stayed anonymous so they wouldn't damage business relationships.
Rockstar didn't answer GamesBeat before the story went live. IGN adds that neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has commented since. So this is a rumor. It's a decent one, though. GamesBeat is an established outlet, and four sources beat one guy on X with a blurry screenshot. Eurogamer, IGN and Insider Gaming all reported it too.

Here's what's actually official: GTA VI lands on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, five weeks from today. Rockstar has not announced a PC date. If GamesBeat is right, PC players get in by the end of March 2027, only a few months behind consoles.
By Rockstar standards, that would be practically instant. GTA V hit consoles in September 2013 and PC in April 2015, and it was originally meant to launch on PC at the same time. Red Dead Redemption 2 came out on consoles on October 26, 2018 and on PC on November 5, 2019. That's more than a year of waiting both times.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick doesn't hide the console-first plan. In May he told Bloomberg that Rockstar "always starts on console because I think with regard to a release like that you're judged by serving the core." The funny part: about a year ago on CNBC's Squawk Box, according to IGN, the same man said the industry was "moving towards PC" and trending towards "open rather than closed." Pick a lane, Strauss.

Then there's online. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said: "You are going to see this big bump with GTA VI, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer." Rockstar has not confirmed any online mode for GTA VI. IGN wonders whether the PC launch could line up with multiplayer, while Insider Gaming calls any link to GTA VI Online pure speculation. I'm with Insider on that one. Connecting those dots is fan fiction for now.
One more blank spot: Rockstar hasn't confirmed console frame rate or resolution either, so nobody knows yet what PC would even be competing with.

PC folks: are you holding out, or buying a console in five weeks?
