GTA VI: second trailer is out, and the game slips
Rockstar released the second Grand Theft Auto VI trailer. On May 2 it also announced the game now comes on May 26, 2026, not Fall 2025.

Rolling Stone reports that the second Grand Theft Auto VI trailer has arrived, a nearly three-minute clip from Rockstar Games. The other half of the news matters just as much.
Here is what the footage shows:
- An older man greets protagonist Jason Duval, who strolls through Vice City.
- Jason then goes to jail to pick up Lucia Caminos, described as the series' first woman protagonist.
- The two go home, and the next scene has them in an armed robbery.
- The rest of the trailer is a Bonnie and Clyde-like spree through Leonida, evading cops and street enemies.
The bad news: on May 2 Rockstar announced a delay to May 26, 2026, from the previously promised Fall 2025 date. Sadly, that's that.
The studio's statement reads:
We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team.
Bloomberg's Jason Schreier wrote on Bluesky that the delay was no surprise internally. In his words: "Too much work, not enough time, and what appears to be a real desire from management to avoid brutal crunch."
This rests on a single source, the Rolling Stone piece, but the trailer and the Rockstar statement are official. The delay stings, yet a rested team beats a wrung-out one. That's my take, anyway. Well, Rockstar and deadlines…
Do you think the extra months are worth the wait? Let us know!
