GTA VI: An Extended Look - 26 minutes of the game
Grand Theft Auto VI's 26-minute showcase premieres on Netflix and then comes to YouTube too. Missions, a long list of side activities, an 80-hour playthrough and a map three times the size of RDR2's.

Rockstar Games is premiering Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on Netflix, and after six hours as a Netflix exclusive it goes up on YouTube and the official GTA VI site as well. According to IGN, the premiere is on Thursday, August 27, at 3pm EDT (9pm CEST), with the YouTube version following at 9pm EDT (3am CEST). Netflix lists the showcase at 26 minutes. Rockstar says every frame is in-game footage captured on PlayStation 5.
Here it is:
Remember: Trailer 2 dropped back in May 2025, more than 15 months ago. In the meantime we got the cover art in June, then a batch of new screenshots instead of a third trailer.

What the footage shows
Based on GamesRadar+'s rundown (mission details hidden):
- The opening mission:
- A getaway mission and gas station robberies.
- GTA V-style character switching is back.
There's plenty to do on the side, too: airboating, basketball, gym workouts, jet skiing, kayaking, car racing, boxing, dirt biking, base jumping and clubbing.

What Rockstar said
According to GamesRadar+, the developers shared the following around the showcase:
- You can't break up Lucia and Jason.
- There's a criminal profile system that works like Red Dead Redemption 2's honor system.
- NPC interactions go "much further" than in RDR2.
- You won't be as "overpowered" as in previous games.
- One developer's playthrough took about 80 hours, and the map is three times larger than RDR2's.
- No microtransactions, and no generative AI was used in development. (GamesRadar+ itself doubts this will hold for GTA VI's take on GTA Online. We'll see.)
On the leaks before the showcase, Rockstar's response was short: "This is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time".
