GTA VI leaker dumps Lucia's prologue hours after Rockstar's plea
Cyberleek posted 4 minutes 38 seconds of Lucia's GTA VI prologue, the biggest story spoiler so far, just hours after Rockstar called the leaks heartbreaking. A crypto coin is involved, of course.

Well, that didn't take long. Hours after Rockstar finally spoke up about the GTA VI leaks, the leaker calling themselves Cyberleek dropped a 4 minute 38 second clip of Lucia's story prologue. It's the biggest story spoiler to hit the internet so far.
If you want to go in blind, mute the keywords now. I'm not telling you what's in it, and you shouldn't go hunting for it.
Until now, Cyberleek's clips were all about Jason. This is the first time Lucia shows up. The leaker threatened earlier this week that her prologue was coming, and the same post asked for "at least 10 gamers" to "show up dressed as leeks" at Rockstar or Take-Two offices. Yes. Leeks. Protest by pun.

Rockstar's first statement on the leaks called them "heartbreaking" for the development team, and asked fans to hang on:
"While it is unfortunate that the intended game experience may now be impacted by some spoilers, we hope that everyone will wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves on November 19."
According to IGN, the studio says it's still working on the game but it's "nearly" finished, and November 19 stands. That's 85 days from today.
Now the part that makes my eye twitch. Text over the video claims the build is "actually recent", that "the game is not ready at all", that reaching gold takes way too much work for the time left, and that Rockstar is "killing their own employees too". It also says Sony and Rockstar are "killing your right to own and resell your games". None of that is verified. Then comes the tell: "Trading volume/price is how CL measures your support. CL will not continue without support. You decide."
Translation: buy my coin or the leaks stop. The leaker is pushing its own $Cyberleek cryptocurrency, widely seen as a way to make money, and says the coin's trading volume and price will decide whether more footage gets posted. Real whistleblowers don't come with a ticker symbol. Would I bet on the "not ready" claim? Not a damn dime.
The resale jab does hang on one real fact: GTA VI is digital-only, and physical editions are just codes in a box. Fair thing to be annoyed about. Still a pretty cheap flag to wrap a coin pitch in.
More than a dozen gameplay clips have leaked over the past week. Citing Bloomberg, IGN says Rockstar is scrambling to work out how it happened and who's behind it. GamesRadar+ reports Take-Two is stepping up its investigation into the leaker's identity and, citing Kotaku, that online vigilantes are digging too.
Obbe Vermeij, a former Rockstar North technical director who worked there from 1995 to 2009, isn't sweating it. His take: the company has weathered worse, like the Hot Coffee scandal. Reports also say the leaks haven't knocked Rockstar off its road to launch.

Which brings us to tomorrow. Rockstar's official Extended Look gameplay reveal lands August 27, streaming only on Netflix for six hours before it reaches YouTube and other platforms. Watch the real thing, and let the leek guy hold his own bag.
