San Andreas news
SA:MP Media
True, the big favourite, MTA:SA, is finished, and to the joy (or sorrow) of many, all we got was racing. Those who were only playing around out of boredom can really be happy now, because the other promising mod, SA:MP, is in the works.
MTASA Race Server v1.1
After the successful launch, the MTA team will soon delight us with the latest 1.1 multiplayer client. Race 1.1 will be released in the next few days with a few new features and important bug fixes.
Take-Two Reports
Today *Take-Two* released its report for the first fiscal quarter of 2006. We already wrote about Liberty City Stories earlier, so let's look at the rest:
James Woods Hates Sex
James Woods, who played Mike Toreno in San Andreas, wasn't exactly happy about the "hidden sex simulator". He claimed that had he known the game contained sexual scenes, he would have thought twice about carrying on with the job.
Pulaski's Voice Actor Has Passed Away
Chris Penn's body was found on Tuesday afternoon at his home in Santa Monica, California, BBC News reports. The actor, who died at the age of forty, was the voice of Officer Pulaski, one of the key characters in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Prostitutes Want GTA Banned
Grand Theft Auto has come under attack from many directions, including politicians, police and parents. This time it's SWOP-USA (Sex Workers Outreach Project USA) that wants to drag poor old GTA through the mud.
A Billion-Dollar Take-Two Takeover?
Last year, U2 frontman Bono teamed up with John Riccitiello, a former president of EA, to set up a new development company called Elevation, which promptly bought up the not exactly small Pandemic Studios and the Bioware team. Last year they reportedly had their eye on Eidos too, but that deal never happened, since SCI skilfully snatched it up after quite a fight.
Frozen Bone County Mod
Christmas is drawing near, and we've finally had our first proper snowfall here too, so it's time for San Andreas to slip into its own little winter coat.

Christmas Giveaway!
Christmas is here, and to mark the occasion we thought we'd surprise you with something. We're launching the second giveaway in our site's history: below you'll find a question, and three lucky people among the correct answers will win a GTA San Andreas Gaming Guide.
GTA Rumble - What's the Buzz?
Less than a month has passed since the very first version of GTA Rumble saw the light of day, and the developers, riding a wave of enthusiasm, are already past the third. If this enthusiasm doesn't vanish into thin air, as it has already happened to others so many times, they could end up with quite a nice user base, but for that they'll have to show something unique that makes it worth installing.
MTA: San Andreas
This is my umpteenth attempt at publishing this post, but the mysterious self-modifications of the system kept getting in the way. So, as you can easily tell from the title, this is about one of the most anticipated projects of the MTA team: the multiplayer mode for San Andreas.
Detailed Radar Mod
The time has come to replace San Andreas' hand-drawn map and radar with a much more detailed one, thanks to *BygoN* and *Ian Albert*.
