RAGE Engine in the Next GTA?
Grand Theft Auto IV will use the Table Tennis engine, says MTV. Based on what was said on the music channel (and an article from early last month), the next-generation GTA will use Rockstar Games' in-house RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine) engine, which recently debuted in Table Tennis on the Xbox 360.
So far the 3D GTAs have used the RenderWare engine from Criterion Games (which Electronic Arts has bought up in the meantime), but it looks more and more certain that next year the game will come out on the company's own engine. Table Tennis has stunning graphics and physics, so let's hope GTA will be no different.
