Modders want a PC to push GTA VI on console to 60 FPS
A modder experiment would capture the console's 30 FPS feed, run AI frame generation on a PC and send 60 FPS to your screen. The catch: a reported 60-70ms of extra latency.

Thirty frames per second. Console players hate that number, and now a group of modders says they have a way around it that never touches the game. Hell, it doesn't even touch the console.
Here's the setup, according to GTAVice.net and iGrandTheftAuto, who both point to GameGPU for the details. You put a PC between your console and your display. The console sends out its 30 FPS feed, the PC grabs it in real time, runs AI frame generation and upscaling on it, and sends 60 FPS on to your screen.
Read that part slowly, because people will get it wrong in the comments. GTA VI isn't modified. The console doesn't suddenly run at 60. The PC only dresses up what you see. It's a trick, but a clever one.
Now the bad news. Tests reportedly add around 60-70ms of latency. In a game where you're weaving through traffic and lining up shots, you'd feel that in your thumbs. Smoother picture, mushier controls. Pick one.
How much do I trust this? Not much. It's an experiment, and that latency figure is only reported. And think about it: you'd be parking a strong gaming PC next to your console just to make the console version look smoother. That's a hobby project, not a fix for regular players.
Show me it running and then we'll talk.
