GTA VI: Netflix reveal stays put despite the leaks
According to Bloomberg, Rockstar isn't moving the GTA VI gameplay reveal on Netflix, even though the game has leaked again. The leaker known as Cyberleek still hasn't been identified.

Rockstar Games is not moving the Netflix gameplay reveal of Grand Theft Auto VI and isn't touching the rest of its road to launch either, despite a fresh wave of leaks. That's according to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, and both GamesRadar+ and Insider Gaming have picked up the report.
The date is a bit of a mess: GamesRadar+ says August 27, Insider Gaming says August 25. What we do know is that Netflix subscribers get to see the footage about six hours before the showcase goes up on Rockstar's YouTube channel.
The leaker goes by Cyberleek. GamesRadar+ describes them as a person or group that has used GTA VI to push a crypto scheme while also campaigning for digital consumer rights. Bloomberg says Rockstar's lawyers are subpoenaing Microsoft and Discord for possible account details. According to Insider Gaming, the studio still hasn't identified who's behind it. The same outlet adds that a cyberattack roughly a week before the leaks had already disrupted the reveal plans.
Staff are reportedly angry that the game has leaked again this close to launch, even after new security measures went in following the last breach. Insider Gaming describes employees as frustrated and exhausted. Management has put all hands on deck, but there are no plans to delay the gameplay premiere or to change the marketing right away. Bloomberg also cites an internal message telling staff that Cyberleek's actions have not devalued their work.
The last big leak was in 2022. Lapsus$ member Arion Kurtaj was sentenced to an indefinite hospital stay for it in 2023, and Rockstar later said that leak cost it $5 million and "thousands of hours" of work. There was also a third-party breach earlier this year, which Rockstar said had "no impact on our organization or our players" and touched only "a limited amount of non-material company information".
Before the leaks hit, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick made the rounds in the media, calling GTA VI's price a good deal and talking up the Netflix partnership. November 19 is 90 sleeps away. Until then, we're curious to see what Rockstar actually shows at the reveal.
