GTA VI: an extended look premieres on Netflix on August 27
Rockstar has announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, premiering first on Netflix on August 27 at 8pm UK time, with the YouTube showing following six hours later.

Rockstar Games announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on the Newswire, and yes, you read that right: it premieres on Netflix first. The date is Thursday, August 27, at 12pm Pacific, 3pm Eastern and 8pm UK time (9pm here in Hungary). Netflix subscribers can already set a reminder at netflix.com/GTAVI.
The YouTube showing on Rockstar's own channel follows six hours later: 6pm Pacific, 9pm Eastern, or 2am UK on August 28. If you don't plan to subscribe, that means coffee or an early alarm. Here is the announcement video:
Netflix calls it a "first-of-its-kind partnership". Brandon Riegg, Netflix's VP of Nonfiction Series, said GTA reveals have become cultural moments of their own, and that the company is honored to show the next part of the story to Netflix members first.

What it will actually show, Rockstar hasn't said. IGN and others expect gameplay, but for now that is speculation with no official confirmation. The length, and whether it is one piece or several episodes, are unknown too.
Trailer 2 arrived back in May 2025, and in June we got the cover art, preorders and a batch of screenshots. That's 21 sleeps until the extended look and 105 until release. What are you expecting, finally some gameplay?
