A Flood of News Before Christmas
Quite a lot of new news has come to light over the past few days. Let me start with the English site MCV, which reported on its virtual pages that, according to "a source close to Take Two Interactive" (as is usually the case), the long-awaited creation will officially hit store shelves in the United Kingdom on April 25. Well, what can I say? The date does indeed fall in the second fiscal quarter of 2009, but without an official announcement I wouldn't bet big money on it just yet. And I wouldn't want to wait that long anyway...
Jack Thompson has gotten the short end of the stick again. The court (which one is lost in eternal mystery) has thrown out our anti-star's lawsuit against Take2, filed in 2006. The charge was that in 2004 a guy named Cody Posey hunted down his father, stepmother and stepsister under the influence of GTA Vice City. Well, of course, what else? The defendants were T2 and Sony, but because of the baseless accusations the motion was dismissed. Thompson has 30 days to file an appeal. Or rather, he would have, since a contract bars him from filing any lawsuit against Take Two and any of its subsidiaries (if anyone doesn't know what this is about, they can look it up [HERE]). So Jack Thompson has gotten the short end of the stick again... We'll probably hear less and less about the crazy old man, and everyone can decide for themselves whether that's good or bad news.
But let's get back to GTA IV! Two interesting pictures have appeared on the internet: wanted posters of none other than Niko and Little Jacob an unknown man.
Among other things, we can learn that both wanted persons are men (whoa, what a surprise, we'd never have guessed from the picture), about 180 centimeters tall and 80 kilos, and the watchful guardians of the law are looking for Niko for car theft, and Jacob the as yet unknown gentleman for robbery and possession of firearms. On the posters we can see the Liberty City police logo, which at first glance turned out quite nice.
