Music
GTA Liberty City Stories has ten radio stations set in 1998: earlier versions of the GTA III stations, the new Radio Del Mundo and The Liberty Jam, and the talk station LCFR, plus custom tracks on PSP.
GTA Liberty City Stories has ten radio stations: nine music stations and one talk station, Liberty City Free Radio. The game is set in 1998, three years before GTA III, so most of the stations are earlier versions of the GTA III ones, often with a different DJ and a different sound. MSX FM still goes by MSX 98, Lips 106 has Cliff Lane on the mic next to Andee, and Flashback FM plays Giorgio Moroder instead of eighties pop. Radio Del Mundo and The Liberty Jam are new. Like in GTA III, each station is a single looped recording of songs, adverts and DJ chatter, and the only exception is the Liberty News bulletins, which play once after certain missions. The PSP version also lets you play your own music, using Rockstar's free "Rockstar Custom Tracks" program.
Head Radio
Pop, soft rock and pop rock with Michael Hunt. All seven songs are originals by fictional acts, written by Rockstar's own musicians such as Craig Conner, Will Morton and Alastair MacGregor. Before Purser's "Feel the Pain", Michael gives a nod to Starship's "We Built This City".
- "Train" - Conor & Jay
- "The One For Me" - Cloud 19
- "Feel The Pain" - Purser
- "Free Yourself" - L. Marie + Raff
- "Drive" - 15 Ways
- "Welcome to the Real World" - Rosco Stow
- "Keep Dreaming" - Vanilla Smoothie
Double Clef FM
Opera and classical music, hosted by Sergio Boccino, while Morgan Merryweather, the GTA III host, turns up as a caller. Mozart's overture to The Marriage of Figaro (1786) shares the title of the oldest music in the series with the GTA III station's "Non più andrai", which comes from the same opera.
- "Così Fan Tutte: E amore un ladroncello" - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
- "Il Trovatore: Anvil Chorus" - Giuseppe Verdi
- "Le Nozze di Figaro: Overture" - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
- "Nabucco: Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves" - Giuseppe Verdi
- "Il Trovatore: Tacea la notte placida" - Giuseppe Verdi
- "I Pagliacci: Vesti la giubba" - Ruggiero Leoncavallo
K-Jah
Dancehall and reggae with Natalie Walsh Davis, who also sends a shout-out to K-JAH West on the West Coast. Just like in GTA III, every track comes from one record, this time the compilation "Watch How the People Dancing: Unity Sounds from the London Dancehall 1986-1989".

Richard Burns, the WCTR journalist from GTA San Andreas, phones in too.
Versions and other music
On the PSP you can add your own music as an extra station. Rockstar offered a program called "Rockstar Custom Tracks v1.0" on the game's official site to rip CDs onto the PSP. The iOS and Android ports (2015 and 2016) have a custom station too, called MIXTAPE, but some songs are missing there: besides the Radio Del Mundo swap above, Rise FM loses "I Believe" and "Spin Spin Sugar", and The Liberty Jam loses both L.O.X. freestyles.
Two songs play only in cutscenes: Bugz in the Attic's "The Heist", a remix of the GTA III theme, in the opening, and Sonia Slany's "Japanese Geisha" in the missions Cash in Kazuki's Chips and More Deadly Than the Male. Rockstar later released the Head Radio and Lips 106 playlists on iTunes.
