Story

What does the American dream even mean these days? For Niko Bellic, the main character of GTA 4, who is just arriving in the city by boat, it probably means a new world full of opportunities and an escape from his foggy, crime-infested past.

Together with his cousin, Roman, he wants to make his fortune in Liberty City, the land of opportunity. As they pile up more and more debt and, hand in hand with a bunch of thieves, killers and sociopaths, they fall into the underworld, they realize that reality is completely different from what they dreamed of. Liberty City is only heaven for those who live in the spell of money and power, for everyone else it is hell itself.
