Spike TV is holding its own video game awards show again this year. At the 2006 ceremony on December 13, Vice City Stories has received three nominations:
Vice City Stories has dropped out of the TOP 10 in Britain, although it only slipped back one place on the latest software sales chart. Liberty City Stories fares even worse, placing four positions lower than the week before.
The GTAs have slipped back down the UK software sales chart, according to last week's stats. British appetite for Grand Theft Auto games may not have cooled; it's more likely the new entries pushed them lower, with God of War, newly out on Xbox 360, opening straight at number one.
Slipping down one place, Vice City Stories finished last week in seventh place in Britain - at least as far as software sales go. There's no reason to be sad, though, because on the multiplatform chart big names like NFS: Carbon (first place) and Call of Duty 3 (third place) finished ahead of the newest GTA. LCS held on to its previous position.
Rockstar Games has announced a partnership agreement with Capcom, so just like with GTA III and Vice City, Capcom will be publishing San Andreas in Japan. The Japanese aren't overly fond of GTA-style games, and nothing proves it better than the fact that SA will only be released there in January 2007, more than two years after the American and European premiere.
Although my clueless "colleague" thinks they're just two good friends, the stars of the next video are actually Mario and his brother Luigi. It's the latest addition to the Robot Chicken series.
Vice City Stories came out in Europe last Friday and went straight into the top ten of the British game sales chart. Liberty City Stories, released a year earlier, is not doing badly either.
We wrote about it back then: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy came out on Xbox last October. Not surprisingly, the special edition contains the third GTA, Vice City and San Andreas - all for the price of a single game.
The 2006 Golden Joystick Awards were handed out yesterday, and Grand Theft Auto was once again among the winners. Best handheld game of 2006: GTA: Liberty City Stories.
PSM is the first to report on what Vice City Stories is like, as they were the first to test the game. They rated it an excellent game and gave it 9.5 points.
The release of Vice City Stories is drawing dangerously close, so the bigger sites are making one last big push. In their latest previews, IGN and Gamesradar take a closer look at the multiplayer mode, so let's see what new details have come out.
