Vice City Stories: The Best Handheld Game

GTA has defended the "Handheld Game of the Year" award it won last year: after Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, released on PSP last October, has taken the title at the 25th Golden Joystick Awards.

The Grand Theft Auto series got seven nominations in a total of six categories. Here's the list:

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy (GTAIII, GTAVC, GTASA): BBC 1Xtra Soundtrack of the Year (Best Game Music) Playstation Game of the Year (Playstation Game of the Year)

Grand Theft Auto IV: Ones To Watch Award (Most Anticipated Game of 2008)

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories: Nuts All Nighter Award (the award for those all-night play sessions) Handheld Game of the Year (Handheld Game of the Year) Online Game of the Year (Multiplayer Game of the Year) Playstation Game of the Year (Playstation Game of the Year)

The clear big winner of the awards gala was Gears of War, which took four awards out of five nominations, including "Game of the Year" and the "All Nighter" award, and fully deserved it.
