Microsoft Bought Exclusivity for 50 Million
It all started back in September 2006, when Microsoft was the first to announce that the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV would get episodic content. Recently Take-Two released its financial results for the second quarter. The press release revealed that the episodic content will arrive on Xbox 360 during 2008, while the report made no mention of the PlayStation 3 version. Afterwards, a Take-Two spokesperson confirmed to GameIndustry.biz that the episodic content will be released exclusively for Xbox 360. Wondering why only the Xbox 360 gets an add-on? SeekingAlpha found the answer in Take-Two's financial report: Microsoft paid a total of 50 million dollars for the first episode, downloadable in March 2008, and the second episode that follows it.
