Lost and Damned release date, more PC troubles
First of all, the DLC in question arrives on Xbox 360 on February 17th. Sadly, there's still no word on ports to other platforms.
PC players are getting a little "gift" sooner, or rather compensation, in the form of a patch. There's no concrete release date, but it's only a matter of days. Rockstar is done with it, and Microsoft is currently doing quality control on it (I had a little chuckle at that one ;)), so it's up to them now.
Fixed (among other things):
- The crash that a few German users got right after the official text screens (who owns which trademark, etc.).
- Numerous improvements in the video editor: more fitting names, better quality
- Bowling problems with mice of different sensitivity - I experienced it myself, and it went much better after switching to a higher sensitivity
- Shadow glitches on the ATI 1900 series fixed
- Graphics fixes to the particle system and the mirrors
- It now remembers your multiplayer character settings
- Support for DirectInput controllers. Note: the current hacked method may not work. It's recommended to remove the hack before patching.
- The Social Club's data handling has been improved, and they're trying to get rid of the Mma10 errors.
- There were problems where eco-friendly programs that run the computer at reduced clock speeds when idle didn't notice GTA4 and didn't restore the normal clock speeds. This has been fixed too.
Well, we're waiting for the patch, and hopefully it will manage to reduce the number of unhappy players. Until then, everyone should update their graphics card drivers, since both nVidia and ATi/AMD have released new ones in honour of the game.
