GTA IV PC Problems
GTA 4 has finally come out on PC too, but sadly not everyone can enjoy it without a care. First of all, the system requirements are tough. You have to take the minimum seriously: forget about it with a single-core CPU, and even with a dual-core, a more powerful one doesn't hurt. The game also demands a good graphics card and pays you back for it, but sadly even that isn't always true. Radeon owners in particular must be tearing their hair out, since in several cases the game simply refuses to start on HD4800 series cards, and there are problems with the HD3800s as well. Sad, but Rockstar promises a quick fix. Being an nVidia owner isn't all milk and honey either, especially if we have a 7900 series card, on which nasty bugs show up. At least there's an immediate solution here: just install the latest beta driver for it. It's also pretty annoying that the Social Club client, Games for Windows LIVE and SecuROM all have to keep running alongside the game. The upside is that there's still no proper crack for the game, which is quite an achievement.
If you have a problem, feel free to turn to Rockstar and ring the phone number printed in the manual.
